Psychological Plot against Iran

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad disclosed that Washington and Tel Aviv have hatched a new plot to launch a psychological war against Tehran in a bid to increase pressures on the country.

"We have precise information that the Americans have devised a plot, according to which they seek to launch a psychological war on Iran," Ahmadinejad told press tv on Monday.

"They plan to attack at least two countries in the region within the next three months," he added.

Ready for all threats

Iran's home-made air defense system is so sophisticated and advanced that it can show swift and precise reaction to any possible threat and aggression by enemies, a senior Iranian Army commander underlined on Wednesday.

"Under any circumstances, the air defense systems in the country can respond to any possible threat against Iran," Air Defense Commander of Iran's Southern Zone General Qanbar Ali Salahian told FNA.

Meantime, Salahian downplayed enemies' threats against Iran as psychological war, and stressed, "We always maintain our preparedness under any conditions and we are ready for response and defense as long as there is a threat."

Referring to the capabilities of the air defense system in his zone, he said that at present a new Iranian radar system has replaced its western rivals in the southern zone which can cover the entire Persian Gulf region.

"Our radar and missile systems cover not just the Persian Gulf, but also the outskirts of the Persian Gulf littoral states," Salahian added.

A senior Iranian Air Defense commander had also said on Monday that Iran's radar systems can detect all flying objects in the entire region, even in the Persian Gulf littoral states.

"In addition to the southern borders and waters, all Persian Gulf littoral states are under the cover of the radars of the Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base," Commander of the Air Defense Unit of Southeastern Iran General Habibollah Alizadeh told FNA at the time.

Iran in February announced self-sufficiency in the production of radars with a senior Iranian commander stressing that Tehran is now able to produce all types of radars by itself.

"We have the honor to announce that we have reached full self-sufficiency in the production of different types of the needed radars with different ranges and frequency bands," Commander of Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base Brigadier General Ahmad Miqani said.

IRGC Navy ready to escort Gaza-bound aid convoys

TEHRAN, June 6 (MNA) -- The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy is totally prepared to escort Gaza-bound aid ships to protect them against Israeli attacks, the Supreme Leader’s representative in the IRGC Navy has announced.

“Enemies should be met head-on through a spontaneous international movement, and we should foil their evil plots,” Hojjatoleslam Ali Shirazi told the Mehr News Agency on Sunday.

“The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy is ready to escort the peace and freedom convoys that carry humanitarian assistance for the defenseless and oppressed people of Gaza with all its strength,” he added.

The IRGC follows Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei’s orders, and if he issues an order in this regard, the IRGC Navy will mobilize all its forces to provide security for Gaza-bound aid convoys, he stated.

Ahmadinejad won. Get over it

Without any evidence, many U.S. politicians and “Iran experts” have dismissed Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s reelection Friday, with 62.6 percent of the vote, as fraud.

They ignore the fact that Ahmadinejad’s 62.6 percent of the vote in this year’s election is essentially the same as the 61.69 percent he received in the final count of the 2005 presidential election
, when he trounced former President Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani. The shock of the “Iran experts” over Friday’s results is entirely self-generated, based on their preferred assumptions and wishful thinking.

Although Iran’s elections are not free by Western standards, the Islamic Republic has a 30-year history of highly contested and competitive elections at the presidential, parliamentary and local levels. Manipulation has always been there, as it is in many other countries.

Like much of the Western media, most American “Iran experts” overstated Mir Hossein Mousavi’s “surge” over the campaign’s final weeks. More important, they were oblivious — as in 2005 — to Ahmadinejad’s effectiveness as a populist politician and campaigner. American “Iran experts” missed how Ahmadinejad was perceived by most Iranians as having won the nationally televised debates with his three opponents — especially his debate with Mousavi.

Ben Caspit, a Ma'ariv columnist, put it even more bluntly that morning: "If you have friends in Iran, try to convince them to vote for Mahmoud Ahmadinejad today … There is no one who will serve Israel's PR interests better than him."
